I would like to warmly welcome you to Woodlands Infant School where I can promise that you will always be greeted with kindness, warmth and many smiles.

Woodlands is a very special place. We are proud to be a school where children are known, families are valued and everyone is made to feel that they belong. As Headteacher, I feel incredibly privileged to lead a school community built on strong relationships, kindness and care.

At Woodlands, we believe that children learn best when they feel safe, happy and understood. Our caring staff team take the time to get to know every child as an individual: their strengths, their interests, their needs and the things that help them to thrive. They do this within an environment where pupils can be themselves, express their ideas and grow in confidence. 

We also know how important it is to build strong relationships with families. We want parents and carers to feel welcomed, listened to and supported, because working together makes such a difference to children’s confidence, wellbeing and learning.

Inclusion is at the heart of who we are. Whatever a child’s background or culture, starting point or individual need, we want every child and family to feel that Woodlands is a place where they are accepted, supported and able to flourish. We celebrate every child’s individuality and are proud of the way our school community looks out for one another.

Our nurturing approach is central to life at Woodlands.  We are committed to supporting every child’s wellbeing, social development and sense of belonging, so that they feel secure, valued and ready to learn.

We also want our children to love learning. Our curriculum is broad, engaging and ambitious, giving children opportunities to develop their knowledge, skills, curiosity and creativity. We want every child to leave Woodlands with strong foundations for the future, a belief in themselves and the confidence to be the 'best me that I can be'.
